Board of Directors
The board is drawn from the family lines of the Four, so that no single branch of the family speaks for the whole record. Aubrey Lee left no descendants. His seat is held rather than left empty, so that all four are represented.
Brandon Hanes
Founder and Board President
Son of Don Hanes. Great-grandson of William Thompson Hanes and grandson of William Roger Hanes. Holds the seat for Aubrey Lee, who left no descendants.
Background
Brandon Hanes has worked in information technology since 1999, and in information security for the last fifteen years.
He served for a decade as Chief Information Security Officer at Guaranty Bank and Trust Company, where he built the security program from the ground up: a virtualized data center, disaster recovery, vendor risk management, and compliance under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and GDPR. He also worked with Soltra Solutions and federal agencies on the development of a national cyber threat intelligence sharing platform.
In 2013 he founded Graystone Security Solutions, which maintains this website for the Foundation. He holds the CISSP and three banking security certifications.

Kim Hanes
Vice President
Thirty-five years in human resources, in banking, book distribution, healthcare recruiting and manufacturing.
Background
Kim Hanes worked in human resources for thirty-five years, from 1984 to 2019.
He began as a personnel specialist at First Tennessee Bank and then spent nearly eleven years as a personnel generalist at Bank of America. From 2001 to 2008 he was human resources manager at Ingram Book Group, and from 2009 to 2011 he was a healthcare recruiter at MedManagement.
From 2012 to 2016 he was senior generalist and recruiter at Calsonic Kansei in Shelbyville, Tennessee. In 2012 and 2013 he also served on the advisory board of the Engineering Technology department at Middle Tennessee State University. His last position, from 2016 to 2019, was senior human resources generalist at Transition, in the Alexandria, Louisiana, area.

Erica Tadlock
Board Member
Holds Homer Buford Hanes's discharge papers and his medals. A registered nurse since 2010, most of that time in critical and emergency care.
Background
Erica Tadlock has been a registered nurse since 2010. Most of her career has been in critical and emergency care: intensive care, emergency department charge and triage nursing, and flight nursing, transporting critically ill and injured patients by helicopter and airplane.
She has also led nursing organizations. She was Chief Nursing Officer of Latimer County General Hospital, directing nursing operations, staffing, policy and education, and she has served as Director of Nursing for several long-term care, assisted living and memory care facilities.
Her work has also included the cardiac catheterization laboratory, medication-assisted treatment for opioid addiction, home health care, and hospital discharge planning. She now practices as an advanced practice nurse.

Jay Hatcher
Board Member
Stepson of William Roger Hanes and son of Virginia Hanes, his wife. Thirty-four years in industrial construction, maintenance and pipe fabrication, most of them in quality assurance, quality control and inspection.
Background
Jay Hatcher has worked in the industrial construction, maintenance and pipe fabrication industry for thirty-four years. Most of that time was in quality assurance, quality control and inspection, and the last twenty-eight years were in management.
For fifteen years at the Shaw Group, a Fortune 500 company, he built and maintained an industry-leading department. He set lean annual budgets that kept overhead competitive and still funded strong training and support. He assembled, trained and managed teams of managers, supervisors, inspectors, administrators and data technicians. Those teams served on sites that ranged from billion-dollar power plant construction with more than 1,000 employees to onsite plant maintenance departments of twenty.
His experience covers every discipline of construction and maintenance: civil, structural, mechanical, coatings, electrical and instrumentation, systems turnover and commissioning. He specializes in civil work, welding, and pipe and structural fabrication, including weld inspection, welder qualification, joint preparation and alignment, and code compliance.
He has worked extensively to ASME Sections I, II, V, VIII (Division 1) and IX; ASME B31.1 and B31.3; AWS D1.1; the NBIC; and API 510, 570, 572, 650, 653 and 1104, both as an inspector and as a craftsman. As his company’s representative he prepared procedures to all of those codes and to American Concrete Institute and ASTM standards. He also served as a Lead Auditor, ensuring that departments followed company policy and procedure.

Keith Roshto
Board Member
An Oracle Certified Professional with more than thirty years in database engineering.
Background
Keith Roshto holds a degree and is an Oracle Certified Professional. He has worked with databases for more than thirty years, in information technology, energy, utilities, education, aerospace, retail and consulting.
He began in 1992 as an Oracle database administrator at Loral Space Information Systems, on NASA’s Space Station command and control center development effort. He then spent five years at Oracle Corporation as a principal educator and consultant.
From 1998 to 2003 he owned Infopro Corporation, a consulting, design and training firm for high-end database technologies. In the same years he was a consultant and database administrator for Reliant Energy, and he advised the Houston Community College System on its Oracle education program.
His particular expertise is Oracle Exadata, disaster recovery planning, very large databases, systems design, back-end development and automation, across Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, Informix and MySQL. Since 2004 he has been a lead database analyst in retail.

Father of the Foundation's president. The two of them were discussing the formation of this Foundation in the time before he died. He died of ALS on May 15, 2026, before he could take his rightful place as a founding board member.
His seat is held open on this page. A foundation built to keep a family’s record should be able to keep its own.
Why the board looks like this
Four generations, one record.
The man in this photograph served in the First World War. Four of his children served after him. The child in his arms founded the Foundation that keeps their record.
That is why the seats are allocated by line of descent rather than by convenience. The documents, the photographs, the medals and the memories are not held in one house. They are scattered across the branches of one family, and the only way to assemble them is to seat each branch at the same table.
Three of the Four left descendants. Aubrey Lee did not. Rather than leave his seat empty, the president holds it, so that the eldest of the Four is represented at the table that keeps his record. He is the one of the Four with nobody obliged to remember him, which is the plainest argument this Foundation has for its own existence.
Standing of the organization
The Thompson Four Foundation is being organized as a Louisiana nonprofit corporation. Application for recognition of exemption under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code is in progress. Contributions are not yet tax deductible.
Bylaws, the conflict-of-interest policy, and annual filings will be published here once the organization is formed and exemption is recognized.
